The Festival will offer great food, entertainment, special events, arts and
crafts. The unique parade of mules, horses, antique cars and tractors will be
Saturday at 12:30.
Activities will begin downtown at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6, with headliner band
Avery Michaels and Exit 209 taking the stage at 8 p.m.
Avery Micheals and Exit 209 are newcomers to the West Alabama area. They bring
their Louisiana-style of country/southern rock music to present a special kind
of party to the festival.
The band is layed out with a current hit list as well as 1980s oldies. They bring a bold visual excitement with their show and toss in the occasional
rocking songs to be sure that everybody is up! Contemporary, talented, polite,
enthusiastic
….these are terms to describe Avery and his band, but, shy, they are not!
The band has opened for super acts Toby Keith, Hank Williams Jr., Dan Seals, and
Donny and Marie Osmond.
Many more entertaining acts will fill the stage on Friday night and Saturday.
Gordo’s annual Chickenfest/Mule Day promises to get the summer started with lots of fun for all ages.
