MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE SALE
Default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness secured by that certain mortgage executed by Scotty Billups, a married man, to Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. acting solely as a nominee for First Federal Bank, on the 4th day of January, 2011, said mortgage recorded in the Office of the Judge of Probate of Pickens County, Alabama, in Real Book 263, Page 322; said mortgage having subsequently been transferred and assigned to Bank of America, NA successor by merger to BAC Home Loans Servicing, LP f/k/a Countrywide Home Loans Servicing, LP, by instrument recorded in Book 272, Page 345, in the aforesaid Probate Office; the undersigned Bank of America, NA successor by merger to BAC Home Loans Servicing, LP f/k/a Countrywide Home Loans Servicing, LP, as Mortgagee/Transferee, under and by virtue of the power of sale contained in said mortgage, will sell at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash, in front of the main entrance of the Courthouse at Carrollton, Pickens County, Alabama, on February 16, 2012, during the legal hours of sale, all of its right, title, and interest in and to the following described real estate, situated in Pickens County, Alabama, to-wit:

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to law, that in the Circuit Court of Pickens County, Alabama, there was filed a verified complaint by  JO DORIS GRAHAM DOBBS against the lands described in the complaint and all unknown parties who may claim any title thereto, interest therein, liens or encumbrances thereon, or any part thereof, and against any unknown parties, including any persons claiming any present interest therein and including any persons claiming any future, contingent, reversionary, remainder, or other interest in said land; said complaint being filed to establish the right, title and interest to said lands and to clear up all doubts and disputes concerning the same.
Said lands being described as follows:

Said complaint was filed on the 13th day of January, 2012, in this Court against said lands and against all unknown parties and all other parties as heretofore listed in this notice.  Said Plaintiff has acquired title to this property through adverse passion and the said Plaintiffs claim to own the fee simple title to this property, and have been in the actual peaceable, continuous, open and notorious possession of said lands for a period of time in excess of twenty (20) years and have paid the taxes on the said property exclusively for a period in excess of twenty (20) years before the filing of this complaint, and the said Plaintiffs claim to own the entire fee simple title to said property.
Said unknown parties and any persons having any interest therein shall plead, answer or otherwise defend this complaint before the 16TH day of March, 2012, or thereafter suffer a default judgment.

Pickens County Community Action will be accepting applications for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) starting on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012. Please call only (205) 367-8166 ext. 26.
You must have an appointment to be seen. Eligibility requirements: To be eligible for assistance, a household must make application in accordance with rules governing the LIHEAP, including the requirement that only the following individuals are authorized to make application.
Head of household
Spouse or head of household or
Second party application only if you are 60 years old or are disabled. You must receive a form from the agency.
Must be a resident of Pickens County.
Gross income of all current household members for the month prior to the month of application.
Non-parental guardians must provide documentation of permanent or temporary custody of children in the household.
There have been some changes made to qualify for this assistance. They are as follows:
The utility bill must be in the name of the head of the household or the spouse. In case of renters whose utilities are included in rent or bill is in the name of the landlord, a legal statement from the landlord should be signed and notarized.
Copies of social security cards for all household members and a picture ID of the person making the application.
Household members 18 years and older, who are not full-time students, must furnish a notarized statement verifying zero income for the previous month. In order to claim full-time college students, you must show documentation from the school (copy of picture ID, enrollment letter).
No walk-ins please.

By virtue of a writ of execution issued out of the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of Pickens County, State of Alabama, and to me directed, whereby I am commanded to make the amount of a certain judgment recently obtained against defendant, Margaret Ann Richardson, in favor of plaintiff(s), Angela O. Lawson, out of the goods, chattels, lands and tenements of said defendant, I have levied on the following property, to-wit:
